School Direct at Princess Frederica
This new path into teaching is a great new way to gain the qualifications and practical skills you need to become a teacher. It allows those who have just finished a degree, or have been working in a career for many years to combine teacher training with actually doing and learning on the job.
Princess Frederica is offering the School Direct Training Programme (salaried). This is an employment-based route available to high-quality graduates with at least two years’ work experience who will earn a salary whilst they train.

School Direct Teacher Training Vacancies
For start in September 2021
About this training programme
The program is carefully and progressively structured.
Each trainee is assigned to a class and starts off teaching small groups of children in one core subject. There is a gradual build up to some whole class teaching by the end of the first term. A Second School Experience in a contrast setting is arranged for six weeks in the second term and the final term is spent in an alternative classroom teaching a different age of children.
We work collaboratively with the Institute of Education to provide each trainee with at least 60 days of intentional training, which is designed to assist the student in meeting the QTS Standards. There are many opportunities for observing other teachers; team teaching with the class teacher; subject knowledge training; weekly lesson observations by the class teacher or school mentor and weekly training meetings with the school mentor.
Why train with us?
Princess Frederica has an experienced and dedicated school mentor who is actively involved in the training and support of trainee teachers. The school provides high quality teacher training which promotes the best standards of teaching and learning. Class teachers are also experienced in providing the appropriate support, advice and mentoring to help trainees grow into great teachers
