The children are enjoying their first few days in France. Please see some pictures below.
The children arrived safely, settled in to their new surroundings and have already done a few different activities including visiting a French school to practise their French skills.
Upon arrival at the Gordon Outdoor Education Centre, children were allocated their rooms and given time to unpack and organise their rooms. After that, they all enjoyed an exciting tour of the centre where they gained awareness of boundaries and other exciting activities available to them in their free time. Activities ranged from spending time with the goats, pigs, chickens, rabbits to playing football. Children were then split into 2 groups; one group enjoyed working collaboratively to solve a range of exciting but challenging problems on an assault course whilst the other group explored low ropes and trail activities. Later that evening, children had dinner and enjoyed a relaxing movie whilst being treated to some delicious hot chocolate and biscuits. Children finally showered and retired to be bed in readiness for the next day.

Despite the rain, the final morning was a big success. The children packed their bags (with mixed success) and prepared themselves for a morning at the farm. We had already seen the two friendly peacocks but were not expecting to see snakes, lizards and tortoises! Before meeting these exotic animals, the children spent time with a big rabbit, looked on at the pigs and even fed the hungry chickens. Time was spent in the gift shop and on the adventure playground. Before we knew it though, it was time for lunch and the coach journey back to school, all of us looking forward to seeing loved ones again.
After a short drive and a spot of lunch, the Year 3 children spent the afternoon in the woods. They scavenged for a number of different items on a list, learnt teamwork skills guiding their blindfolded partner to different objects and created imaginative and colourful art using different natural objects they found on a nature trail. Please see some of our pictures below to see some of the fun we are having.
