Welcome back to the start of a new year!
I hope you have all had a much deserved restful break after the many exciting activities last year!
Children are expected back at school tomorrow Thursday, 4th September 2014 and the school gates will be open at 8.30am to welcome the children back to school.
As normal please keep an eye on our school calendar to be informed and kept up to date with school activities.
Meet the teacher
There will be another opportunity to meet your child’s classteacher after school on Thursday, 4th September in your child’s classroom from 3.40pm-3.45pm. This is meant to be quick ‘touch base’ and ‘hello’. We ask that all parents should bear this in mind and desist from monopolising the classteacher’s time. Please read the Home School agreement and Single Permission form attached. There will be a hard copy in school for you to sign.
Beginning of Year Service
As usual we will commit the year ahead of us to God at our first service to be held at St Marks with Reverend Olly Ryder at 10.30am on Friday, 5thSeptember. All are warmly welcome to attend.
Paid for Meals: Universal Free Meals (UFM)
All children from Reception to Year 2 will have a paid for meal in school. In preparation for this, special government funding allocated has been used to improve the downstairs hall and kitchen facilities.
Please remember that for your child and the school to benefit from extra funding you still need to apply for free school meals if you are entitled to it; even if your child is now receiving a UFM. You may ask for an application form, from the school office.
Year 3 Swimming start on Wednesday, 10th September 2014
Both year 3 classes will be swimming on Wednesday mornings throughout the year. Please take your child straight to the Willesden Sports Centre, Doyle Gardens NW10 on Wednesday mornings where Mr Chantler and two members of staff will be waiting for your child from 8.30am.
Please hand your child over to a school member of staff before leaving.
To be sent on Friday, 12 September 2014
The School gateway is now open for parents who do not pay by Direct Debit to pay their ABC fund money of £35 per child per year.
We hope that this year all parents will give something back to posterity by paying this money which goes towards the upkeep of the building. A big thank you to those parents past and present who have willingly and consistently paid this contribution.
Homework Books Years 2-6
Children will start using the new curriculum homework books from Monday, 15th September. Please pay for your child’s books on the school gateway - £10 for two books.
It is great to be back and we look forward to working with you all.
Mrs S. Nettey
